Nuuk psychiatric hospital. nuuk. greenland. 2018.

Dronning Ingrids Hospital is a private commission to design an extension to the psychiatric hospital already existing in Nuuk, Greenland.

The new building expands towards the fjord offering a quiet atmosphere to look at.

The square geometry consists of stacked volumes centered around an inner courtyard.

The extension is built on concrete foundation and base slab flushing the level of the surrounding landscape. On both levels, timber columns and shear walls support wooden beams and CLT slabs.

The two cantilevers on each side of the building create in between spaces that can hold several activities.
