The view on Gaularfjellet is a spectacular vantage point along the Norwegian National Tourist Routes. The rest area is located at the top of the climb from the Vetlefjorden, and offers a magnificent panoramic view of Gaularfjellet.

The viewing platform balances on the edge of the mountain, 700 meters above sea level, and consists of three triangular plates with cantilevers of up to 18 meters. The technical solution avoided tension cables in order to emphasizes the simple and elegant architectural concept.

Code Architecture won the competition for the project. DIFK was engaged during the preliminary design phase, with responsibility for concept, design and analysis of the construction.
